Tigers Release Ryan Raburn, Other Roster Moves Made

Brian Britten has reported several roster moves for the Detroit Tigers today. First, Right handed pitchers Melvin Mercedes & Bruce Rondon have been added to the 40-man roster, and infield Dixon Machado has been added to the 40-man as well. Britten also reports that right handed pitcher Tyler Stohr has been outrighted to Triple-A Toledo (meaning he has been taken off the 40-man roster) and utility player Ryan Raburn has been released.

Of note, Rondon has a chance to make the Tigers opening day roster out of Spring Training, and GM Dave Dombrowski has stated he will compete to be the teams closer.

Ryan Raburn being released is great news for Tigers fans everywhere. Raburn had a terrible season in 2012 with only 1 home run, while hitting .171/.226/.254 in 205 ABs.
