Tigers Avoid Arbitration With Rick Porcello

According to mlbtraderumors.com the Detroit Tigers have avoided arbitration with Rick Porcello as the two sides agree to a 1 year deal worth $3.1 million.

In 2011 Porcello went 14-9 with a 4.75 ERA and threw a career high 182 innings. Porcello is going through his first trip of arbitration after opting out of his rookie contract to start the arbitration process.

There was never a doubt the two sides would work out an agreement as the GM of the Tigers, Dave Dombrowski has never gone to arbitration in his tenure as the Tigers GM.
