According to Brian Britten, Miguel Cabrera was named AL player of the month for August.
Cabrera hit .357 with a .429 on-base and a .663 slugging percentage (1.092 OPS). Cabrera hit 8 home runs, had 24 RBI and scored 19 runs. The impressive thing is Cabrera has been playing on a sprained ankle for several weeks now and has still hit the ball very well.
