Miguel Cabrera, Prince Fielder & Austin Jackson help the Tigers Towards a Win.
The Detroit Tigers beat the Tampa Bay Rays 5-2 today.
Rick Porcello pitched well going 7 innings and giving up only 2 runs and had 4 strikeouts.
Austin Jackson drew two walks and 2 runs scored including a solo Home Run to tie the game in the bottom of the 7th inning.
Phil Coke came in for the 8th and had two strikeouts in an inning of work.
In the bottom of the 8th, Miguel Cabrera led off the inning with a double to right-center field, and was driven in by Prince Fielder to give the Tigers the lead. After a Delmon Young single and Ryan Raburn moving over the runners. Jhonny Peralta drove in Prince Fielder with a sac fly and Gerald Laird added to the lead with a RBI single.
Jose Valverde came in for the 9th inning to get his first save of the season.
The Tigers play tommorow at 1:05 PM EST as Justin Verlander takes the mound against James Shields.
