Tigers & Max Scherzer Avoid Arbitration, Agree to a 1 Year Deal
Another year goes by and Dave Dombrowski avoids arbitration as the general manager of the Tigers.
According to Brian Britten, the Tigers and Max Scherzer have agreed to a 1 year deal to avoid arbitration. According to Jon Heyman, Scherzer will make $6.725 million in 2013.
Scherzer in 2012 went 16-7 with a 3.74 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in 32 starts. He pitched 187 2/3 innings and had a major league high 11.08 strikeouts per 9 innings, it was arguably Scherzer's best season as a Tiger.
