Carlos Guillen to Retire
According to the Seattle Mariners Carlos Guillen announced that he will retire. Guillen had spent the last 8 years with the Tigers before signing a minor league contract in the offseason with the Mariners to attempt to make their opening day roster.
Carlos Guillen on his retirement from Greg Johns : "It's hard. It's a tough decision. I tried to come back, but I couldn't."
Guillen started with the Astros before being traded to Seattle where he would eventually be traded to Detroit for Ramon Santiago. Guillen would eventually become a 3 time All-Star with the Tigers, but injuries derailed his career.
Over Guillen's career he hit .285/.355/.433 and had 124 career Home Runs
While it's a recent moment, my favorite moment of Carlos Guillen as a Tiger would have to be this:
