Tigers and Prince Fielder Agree to 9 Year $214 Million Deal
Ken Rosenthal recently comfirmed reports that the Detroit Tigers and Prince Fielder have agreed to a 9 year $214 million deal.
Victor Martinez recently tore his ACL and will miss the 2012 season, so the Tigers went out and made a splash and will sign Fielder. In 2010 Fielder hit .299 with 38 Home Runs and 120 RBI as a member of the Milwaukee Brewers.
Fielder is a career .282 hitter with a career OBP of .390.
It's expected Fielder will play 1st base. So Miguel Cabrera would need to change positions.
Detroit needed to find someone to hit behind Cabrera, and I think they found the perfect player.
