Bad 4th Inning from Rick Porcello is Costly in a 8-3 Tigers Loss
The Detroit Tigers lost to the Toronto Blue Jays tonight 8-3.
Miguel Cabrera got the Tigers on the board in the first inning with a solo home run; it's his 25th of the season. Prince Fielder followed up with a solo home run of his own to give the Tigers back-to-back home runs and an early 2-0 lead; it's his 16th of the season.
Rick Porcello went on to blow the lead and was done after 6 innings. He gave up 5 runs on 6 hits, walking 2 and striking out 1 batter.
Octavio Dotel came in to pitch the 7th inning and gave up 1 run in the inning. Duane Below pitched the 8th inning and gave up 2 (1 earned) runs.
The Tigers came back in the 8th inning after a leadoff double by Miguel Cabrera followed by a single from Prince Fielder to drive him in and cut the lead to 6-3, but the Tigers weren't able to get anything else going and went on to lose.
Anibal Sanchez (5-7 3.94 ERA) makes his Tigers debut tommorrow against Henderson Alvarez (6-7 4.61 ERA) of the Blue Jays.
