Octavio Dotel Implodes as Tigers Lose 3-2

The Detroit Tigers lost to the Seattle Mainers tonight 3-2.

The Tigers started the scoring in the 1st inning tonight after a double by Andy Dirks, Prince Fielder drove him in with a double.

The Tigers came back in the 4th inning to score again. Prince Fielder and Jhonny Peralta each had a single, and Brennan Boesch drove in Fielder with a single.

Doug Fister made his first start since coming off the DL, and he pitched very well going 7 innings, giving up 4 hits, striking out 3 batters, but didn't get the win, thanks to the bullpen.

With Joaquin Benoit and Jose Valverde not available to pitch today, Phil Coke pitched a scoreless 8th inning.

But then...

Octavio Dotel had to go and ruin a great outing by Fister, and cost the Tigers the win. Thanks Octavio, Detroit hates you now.

Also, thanks Leyland for overmanaging the game. It's not like Doug Fister only threw 73 pitches or anything.

Justin Verlander takes the mound for the Tigers tommorow as he takes on Kevin Millwood.
