Tigers Bullpen Pitches Horrible in 11-4 Loss

The Detroit Tigers lost to the Oakland Athletics tonight 11-4.

The Tigers began the game with a double by Austin Jackson followed by a single by Andy Dirks. Miguel Cabrera was up next and hit into a double play, but Austin Jackson scored from 3rd base to give the Tigers the early 1-0 lead.

Down 2-1, the Tigers tied the game in the 3rd inning after Miguel Cabrera hit RBI single to score Gerald Laird from 3rd base.

Rick Porcello didn't pitch very well tonight going 5 innings, giving up 4 runs on 9 hits and 3 walks. Porcello also struck out 4 batters.

Duane Below came in for the 6th inning and things didn't get any better. He gave up 4 runs in the 6th inning and the Tigers fell behind too far.

Collin Balester came in next and gave up 3 runs in the 7th inning. Hey Collin, I hope you enjoy Toledo. I hear they are very nice down there.

The Tigers would try to make a charge late in the game with walks by Austin Jackson and Andy Dirks, then Miguel Cabrera and Delmon Young each hit a RBI single, but the Tigers offense couldn't come back from being 9 runs down.

The Tigers continue their series with Oakland tommorow when Doug Fister starts against Brandon McCarthy.
