Tigers Offense Still Sleeping in a 2-1 Loss

The Detroit Tigers lost to the Seatte Mariners tonight 2-1.

The Tigers had a tough time getting runners on base today, but they got things going in the 6th inning after a leadoff double by Gerald Laird followed up by a bloop single by Danny Worth. Next up was Austin Jackson who hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game.

Drew Smyly pitched very well once again tonight going 6 innings giving up 2 hits, 2 walks, 1 run and striking out 5 batters; Smyly ended with a no decision. Luke Putkonen pitched a scoreless 7th inning, but for some reason came out for the 8th inning and gave up a run, which was the game winning run.

The Tigers open a 4 game road series vs Oakland tommorrow and it starts with Max Scherzer taking the mound against Bartolo Colon.
