Tigers Offense Struggles in 3-1 Loss
The Detroit Tigers lost to the Oakland Athletics tonight 3-1.
Doug Fister after a rough begining to the game, due to a horrid strike zone, ended up pitching very well going 6 innings, giving
up 1 run on 5 hits, walking 2 and striking out 8 batters.
Phil Coke came in for the 7th inning, got 2 outs and gave up 2 runs; Octavio Dotel came in to replace him and got the final out of the inning.
The Tigers offense was close to being shut out for the first time in 100 games, but an Alex Avila sacrifice fly in the 9th inning made sure that didn't happen, however, the Tigers still lost.
The Tigers finish up this series with Oakland tommorrow when Justin Verlander takes on Jarrod Parker.
