Justin Verlander Throws a Complete Game in Tigers 3-2 Win

The Detroit Tigers beat the Kansas City Royals tonight 3-2.

Austin Jackson led the game off with a home run and got the Tigers a quick lead. Justin Verlander gave up a run on a bloop single that tied the game back up in the bottom half of the first. Verlander would settle down after the inning though.

Verlander pitched a complete game, had 9 strikeouts and gave up 7 hits to earn his first win of the season. Basically, it was just another day at work for him.

Jhonny Peralta had 3 hits for the day, and Brandon Inge somehow hit a 2 run homer in the top of the 5th inning to put the Tigers up 3-1, and from there, the game was over, because Verlander brought his A-game.

Tommorow, Drew Smyly makes his 2nd start of the season as he takes on Bruce Chen.
