Prince Fielder Has 2 RBI, Tigers Win 4-3


The Detroit Tigers swept the Kansas City Royals with a 4-3 win tonight.

Jhonny Peralta had a RBI single in the 2nd inning to open the scoring. Prince Fielder stole his first base of the season in the 4th inning, which followed up with the Tigers getting no runs in after loading the bases with no outs.

Prince Fielder drove in Miguel Cabrera in the 5th inning with a RBI double.

Gerald Laird scored on a wild pitch to tie the game in the 7th inning; Prince Fielder would drive Miguel Cabrera in again to give the Tigers a 4-3 lead.

Max Scherzer pitched ok going 6 innings, giving up 3 runs and earning the win. Phil Coke came in for the 7th inning, Joaquin Benoit pitched the 8th and Jose Valverde closed the game.

The Tigers open up a 4 game home series against the Texas Rangers tommorow as Adam Wilk takes on Yu Darvish.
